Evaluation of the Knowledge and Practices About Drug Prescribing and Adverse Reaction Reporting Among Turkish Dentists

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to assess dental care professionals' drug prescription knowledge, practices, and reporting adverse reactions (ADRs). Methods: A cross-sectional exploratory conducted by using a face-to-face survey administered sample dentists from tertiary hospitals in Adana, Türkiye. questionnaire consisted six sections with closed-ended items including sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge about drugs, patient history information, counseling practices during prescribing, source information ADR reporting. Results: included 180 dentists, 95.3% response rate. More than half the (50.6%) stated their level price/cost as low. Most (50.6%;n=91) claimed that they never/rarely asked health insurance information. Moreover, most participants reported sometimes counsel patients regarding mechanism action, side effects drug, interaction prescribed other drugs/nutrients.
